The story
Neer means water. The batter is rice ground thin, not fermented like a regular dosa, then spread pale on a tava until it laces. Wikipedia calls it a Tulu Nadu delicacy; Karnataka cuisine notes it as common in Mangalore and Malenadu. In these hills it arrives with coconut chutney, or with a chicken curry from a home kitchen.
